Houston International Festival Selects True Light Resources & Tendenci to Help Promote Global Awareness

Houston Web marketing and design firms help Houston iFest expand online educational and marketing outreach

The Houston International Festival (iFest) is teaming up with Houston’s Tendenci Membership Management Software (http://www.tendenci.com) and True Light Resources (http://www.truelightresources.com) for their future web site outreach and promotional materials.

The Houston International Festival is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching Houstonians and visitors about countries and people around the world.  Since its inception in 1971, the Houston International Festival has grown into one of the nation’s largest urban festivals, with cultural entertainment and a world-class music lineup.

The new Web site will be powered by Schipul – The Web Marketing Company’s (http://www.schipul.com) proprietary software, Tendenci, and will incorporate many community-focused features.  Tendenci, online membership management software, will allow Houston International Festival staff and contributors to add Web pages, articles and press releases with its Content Management System (CMS).  This will enable contributions from the International Festival’s worldwide network of global supporters, scholars and leaders – regardless of their physical location.

Tendenci’s automatically search engine optimized features help all content added to the Houston International Festival’s Web site to score well in the search engines and further increase exposure to the organization’s objectives.

"As the Houston International Festival has taught us all year after year, the world is a large and exceptionally diverse place," Ed Schipul, CEO of Schipul – the Web Marketing Company, said.  "Through the power of online community-building tools like Tendenci, the International Festival will be able to touch a much larger audience on a global scale in addition to expanding the minds and global outlook here at home."

True Light Resources will provide an array of on and offline graphic design work for the Houston International Festival – including Web site, e-mail newsletter, volunteer pieces and print material design.  The True Light Resources team has worked extensively with other socially-minded organizations (such as The Center Serving Person’s with Mental Retardation – http://www.cri-usa.organd http://www.savethecenter.org

"The Houston International Festival is a wonderful opportunity for us to work with an amazing organization who has a passion for social awareness," Tracey Lee Wallace, Co-Founder and CCO of True Light Resources, said.  "We admire the Festival’s integrity and sense of community and are really looking forward to helping them with their very important mission."

The International Festival will use their new online presence to help expand their year-long educational programs by providing Houston-area students with fun and interesting global news and trivia.  The site will also be essential to future iFest attendees when planning their Festival visit.

"We have been so fortunate to have such a strong and passionate international community of supporters – whether it’s for our education initiatives, our world music fans or our academic friends," Tracy Golden, iFest Marketing Director said.  "It is beyond exciting for us to see how True Light Resources will help shape our marketing and advertising message and to move forward with a strong online presence through Tendenci."

About The Houston International Festival
Since its inception in 1971, the Houston International Festival has brought other cultures to our city, teaching Houstonians and visitors about countries and people from around the world.  The Houston International festival evolved from an idea to foster goodwill relations with other countries and to stimulate international trade – a natural move for the fourth largest city in the nation with the country’s busiest port in foreign waterborne commerce.  The festival today has grown into one of the nation’s largest urban festivals, with cultural entertainment and a music lineup that can rival that of any festival from around the world.  Through art, dance, music, food and more, the Houston International Festival is a vehicle to learn about other traditions, cultures, customs and lifestyles.  For more information about the Houston International Festival call 713.654.8808
