Live Oak Friends Meeting invites you to join us for our annual Quaker Peace Festival on Saturday, November 10, 2007. Entrance to the festival is free.
The afternoon will be filled with:
~ cooperative games,
~ hands-on workstations for kids,
~ face painting,
~ artists’ work on display,
~ and a variety of musical performances.
Food will be served at a nominal charge at noon and throughout the day.
Featured entertainment will include the musical talents of Carrie Anne and the Apocalyptics (folk-rock), Hank Woji (singer-songwriter), DRUM (African rhythms & reggae), Cy, Von Won, & ICECE (positive hip-hop). There will also be a modern dance performance by Revolve Dance Company.
A drum circle will take place under the Skyspace as the
sun is setting on the horizon.
(how cool is that!!!)
Following the drum circle, there will be a one-on-one breakdance competition with many talented local breakdancers.
