16 Jan You Possess the Power to Change Your Life
Today, and every day, I choose to be happy
I deserve whatever good comes my way today
Today is rich with opportunities and I open my heart to receive them
Can you read those and believe them? Can you at least read them and not laugh… or cry? Are negative thoughts, fears, and patterns keeping you from your joy, from your creativity, from your abundance?
In this very moment, right now, you have everything you need to begin to create the love filled, joy full, abundant life you are worthy of. You have the tools within you, in this very moment, to change your life for the better. Your thoughts and your beliefs can shape your world.
What Are Positive Affirmations?
An affirmation can be anything you think or say. It can be the voice in your head you hear that affirms your experiences. Often times, when we begin to weave affirmations into our lives, we become aware of just how negative our thoughts can be. We can change our lives when we retrain our thinking and speaking to focus on positive patterns.
For me, affirmation are the beginning of a new path. They are the catalyst in a change I want to make in my life. They can be the acknowledgement that we are taking responsibility for some behavioral pattern we want to shift. An affirmation is simply, consciously choosing words and thoughts that will either help remove something from our lives or help create space for something new.

Every thought you think and every word you speak can be an affirmation. Each of our internal dialogues are streams of affirmations – we are either affirming positive or negative patterns in our lives. We are all affirming in each and every moment. Some of our beliefs are patterns we learned as children. We learned thoughts patterns from those around us, we learned patterns that kept us safe, and we learned patterns that celebrated our wins. Many of these patterns continue to work well in our lives today. However, there are those that are keeping us from creating what it is we want to manifest.
It is a powerful awareness to come to understand how often what we want and what we believe we deserve can be so different. Paying attention to our thoughts can help us begin change the ones that are creating the experiences we do not want in our lives.
Every complaint is energy we are giving in the direction of what we do not want in our lives. Every time we allow anger to be what drives our choices, we call in more anger. Every-time we allow ourselves to stand in the place of victim, we invite in experiences that allow us to choose to continue being the victim. What we focus on is what will grow in our lives. If we want positive, healthy, happy lives, we have to focus and concentrate on affirming what we want. We have to change the way be think and talk.
People throughout the world are just now beginning to learn that our thoughts create our experiences. The generations that came before didn’t choose to walk through life this way. They taught us how to be in the world the way their parents taught them. However, it’s time for all of us to wake up. It is time to begin to choose to consciously create our lives in a way that pleases and supports us. You can do it. I can do it. We all can do it… we just need to learn how.
It isn’t an easy thing to do, to change a lifetime of thought and choice patterns. In the beginning, continuing or reverting back to old thought patterns will be inevitable. You can’t learn to play the piano in a day… you have to be quite bad at it for quite some time, but with practice and dedication, it is possible. The same with shifting into positive thinking and manifesting the life you want using affirmations.

The secret to having your affirmations work quickly and consistently is to embrace them not only with you intellect, in words and thoughts, but with your whole self – your heart, body and soul. You can think of affirmations like seeds… Poor soil, no light, not enough water – poor growth. Nurture = growth. The more you choose to think positively about your life, the more likely you are to make choices in that direction – in how you treat your body and your environment, how you choose to spend your time, who you choose to spend it with, what choices you make around money and on and on…
Getting started in simple. Choose something you would like to be more positive in your life. What would you like that to look like? Focus on the end result and affirm it, even if in the beginning it seems impossible. You may not realize it because you’ve thought a certain way for so long, but it really is a choice. Now . . . today . . . this moment . . . you can choose to change your thinking. Choosing to focus you thought in the direction you want to go on a daily basis will lead to thinking in a way that makes you feel good and you will definitely make positive changes in every area of your life.
So, for today…
Today, and every day, I choose to be happy
I deserve whatever good comes my way today
Today is rich with opportunities and I open my heart to receive them
