11 Feb Healthy Body Between Massage: 5 Smoothies to Try
I know, I know… this is a Massage Blog right? As a massage therapist I focus on ALL aspects of my clients well-being… mental, emotional, spiritual as well as physical. I believe that feeling good inside your own body is a inherent human right… I mean it is the container for your soul after all. So, I think taking care of your body in between massages is pretty important… and getting all those nutrients found in raw fruits & vegetables is a pretty good way to start. I like to try to work a smoothie into my day somewhere and my tried & true recipes are starting to taste a little flat. 5. Cherry-Limeade Smoothie from MinimalistBaker.com
A huge aspect of aches and pains is due to inflammation and therefore a huge aspect of massage and aromatherapy is focused on reducing inflammation… enter the beautiful and yummy cherry! Great at reducing inflammation and lowering pain… I am super excited about this smoothie.
It starts with loads of cherries and fresh lime juice for that quintessential cherry limeade flavor. Ripe nectarine adds creamy texture and a sweet touch that’s neutral but complements the cherries perfectly. Almond milk adds creaminess, while ice chills everything down.
